2013
Yarramalong Valley Spring Festival
Saturday 24 August - Sunday 8 September

The Festival has been running since 2008 and is staged on behalf of the Communities of the Yarramalong Valley by the Yarramalong Valley Progress Association Inc. This year we have the support of the Wyong Regional Chamber of Commerce and as such, our event will be part of the “Australian Springtime Festival”.

The Festival is designed to bring the Community together and introduce the magnificent hinterland of the NSW Central Coast to the general public, while at the same time, raise money for the various self funding historical buildings in the Valley, the Rural Fire Service, the Public School and the Progress Association.

Everybody is welcome to come and join in the fun of the various events, whether it be entering a Scarecrow in the competition or simply enjoying a pleasant drive through the Valley to view the fantastic Scarecrows entered by others.

You may wish to take in a movie at “Flicks in the Sticks” at Yarramalong Hall, or see what is involved in training a Wild Brumby.

For those looking for the finer things in life, you can view a Fine Art Exhibition or perhaps enjoy a delicious Devonshire Tea or a light meal at Wyong Creek Hall. Once again the Yarramalong Rural Fire Brigade will be testing ones memory with an enjoyable Trivia Night held at their Fire Station.

On Wednesday 4th September the Festival Golf Tournament will be played on the magnificent Kooindah Resort Golf Course. As in previous years, this event will be an Ambrose played in teams of 4, which has always been great fun. The all inclusive fee of $72.00 includes 18 holes of golf with a motorised Golf Cart, Egg & Bacon Rolls with tea and coffee to start the morning and finger food on completion of your round

If you are looking for something more energetic and physically challenging, come and take part in this year’s All Sorts Fitness and Wellbeing “Bumble Hill Burn”, run on Sunday 8th September. This is a 6km Fun Run/Walk up the notorious Bumble Hill. After this exercise, you can amble back down the hill or be brought back down by bus, to enjoy the fun of the fair at the Yarramalong Valley Spring Fair.

If you are not so energetic and would like some fun, the Yarramalong Valley Spring Fair will open its gates from 9.00am on Sunday 8th September. This year’s attractions will include the annual Inter-School Soccer match between Wyong Creek and Jilliby, a variety of Market Stalls and a BBQ. The popular local live Band “Retrovibe” will again be there to provide the music for the Rock n Roll dance, as will the “Chorus Line” from the Wyong Music Theatre Group be along to entertain you.

The Firies will again be pitting their strength against each other in the RFS Brigade Tug o War competition and this year they will be joined by the Maitland Tug o War Club. Wood Chopping will be introduced for the first time to his year’s event, with a wood chopping demonstration provided by Central Coast Wood Choppers.

Once again the “Pinnacle Challenge” will be there for those looking for an adrenalin rush and the kids can expend their energy on the free Jumping Castle.
